Feltraiger is an American menswear brand inspired by the rebellious lifestyle of sects and subcultures of the 20th century. All garments are designed, sampled, and produced in America. Each piece is limited and produced in small numbers and all garments are hand numbered. Time is taken to hand stamp and dye certain tags and garments, keeping them limited, special, and authentic.
The name Feltraiger symbolizes a family's new start in the United States of America. Daniel J, the brands creative backbone, had family who immigrated from Russia to New York City in the early 1900's. Upon their arrival at Ellis Island, the family name, Feltraiger, was changed to Feldman, which remains his last name over 100 years later.
Daniel J has always been drawn to creative forms of self expression. Over the years he become part of many creative circles including writing, performing and recording music, digital and film photography, and more recently, working and designing for the fashion industry. With an education from Parsons in fashion design, Daniel J gained first hand experience in production and the design process with New York based companies "What Goes Around Comes Around", "Mishka", and "Yng Pro Nyc".
